Quality: A differentiator in the network world

  • by Matthew Bennett
  • in ABCs of Cable Management

When building out a new fiber optic network or retrofitting your existing one, your technicians and engineers must place quality at the core of their design plans. If you don't have a proper cable management layout, you're risking the health of your network's performance.

This is the 16th in a Telect  blog series, entitled The ABCs of Cable Management. Marketing Coordinator Matthew Bennett explains how Amphenol Telect puts quality at the forefront when designing custom solutions for your network's specific needs.

Network techs are always looking for ways to ensure an easier path to be flexible, scale and properly manage their fiber optics. This can be a challenge when constantly facing the demands of today by the growth of customers demanding more from networks.

Tech giant Cisco projects that by 2021 we'll each consume 61 GB of data per month globally. In North America, we'll be more data-hungry, consuming a staggering 181 GB of data per month. That's a lot of data and it puts a magnifying glass on your network's architecture, and ultimately, its performance.

Quality becomes a major focus for organizations when selecting fiber optic and power vendors. So, what comes to mind when you think quality?

You might consider:

  • Working product upon receipt
  • On-going failure rates
  • Performance

Quality can affect the amount of insertion loss a product introduces onto a fiber network or the reliability of a power panel over time.

When planning a new deployment or retrofitting an existing network, you must pick the right vendors to ensure the quality and reliability of your network. Each of these facets are part of the Amphenol Telect DNA and are the reason our products are highly reliable and provide market-leading performance.

THE AMPHENOL TELECT DIFFERENCE

At Amphenol Telect, quality is a cornerstone of our business model.

Since 1982, Amphenol Telect has focused on quality—designing and manufacturing connectivity products, solutions and Custom Configured Solutions (CSS). Our CSS team has the expertise and knowledge to guarantee fiber is efficiently routed to network equipment and clearly labeled for quick and simple maintenance. We pride ourselves on taking your specifications and developing a cable management plan that keeps your network signal healthy and your customers happy.

The next time you need to deploy fiber, power or a complete solution ask your vendor about its commitment to quality and what it means to your business.
